Cool Kids.
When Woodgreen Cottage Nursery in Warndon, Worcester decided to expand after looking after local children for over 7 years, they asked Graham Saunders Conservatories of Tewkesbury to build a large double glazed conservatory for use by their smallest children.
To keep the sunny new room cool during the summer, air conditioning was essential. But with only a normal domestic electrical supply to the building, coupled with the huge Heat Load it had to cool, starting current was a concern.
To solve the problem, Cotswold Vale Refrigeration Ltd specified three 5.2kw IG Wall mounted Heat Pump, INVERTER systems. The low starting currents and energy efficient operation avoided overloading the electrical supply and with 6kw of heat from each unit in Heat Pump mode, no other heating was required in the winter. Since to extend the existing Central Heating System would have involved a larger boiler, this was a very cost effective solution.
The Nursery Manager, Mrs Joy Hadley, is delighted with the low noise levels and fast response of the LG Units, and the way that no pipe-work or cabling is visible. The investment in the air conditioned conservatory has increased the number of children who can be catered for at the nursery by 25%.
